Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances

All land within the City Limits is zoned into various residential and business districts.

Zoning covers permitted uses for each zone, minimum development standards (ie, lot size, set-backs, height limits, building coverage, impervious coverage, parking, accessory uses, home occupation, etc.) and general administrative procedures. Requests for zoning changes must be approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.

  • St. Hedwig Zoning Ordinance This ordinance replaces and reinforces the 2003 Zoning Ordinance. It is a compilation of the 2003 ordinance and both the 2003 and 2008 amendments. It also adjusts the zoning districts as they relate to the current Zoning Map. For a copy of the original 2003 document, please contact City Hall.

All Land to be subdivided or re-subdivided within the City and the One Half Mile Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of the City is subjected to the Subdivision Ordinance. Subdivision Plats are submitted to the City Planning and Zoning Commission for approval.

For a list of all other City Ordinances please go to the Ordinance and Master Plan page of this website.
